Return Materials Authorizations (RMA) Procedure

  1. Obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number by contacting Customer Support at 1-605-339-9600 or by using the Contact Us page.
  2. If appropriate, the Customer Support Representative will provide you with an RMA number. Please be sure to write this down, as future reference will be required.
  3. Please read the warranty information that pertains to your product. Only products still within warranty will be issued an RMA number.
  4. After obtaining an RMA number, complete the RMA Request Form.
  5. Return the Products, along with the complete RMA Request Form and proof of purchase documentation. In order for the product warranty to be effective, all requirements of the warranty must be strictly adhered to.
  6. All returns must be clearly marked with the RMA number on the outside of the package for identification. Returns will not be accepted unless so marked.
  7. Goods must be returned properly packaged in their original shipping container or in an equivalent, static free, container.
  8. Goods must be returned with adequate packaging to ensure that they are not damaged in transit. Legacy disclaims any responsibility for goods packaged in such a way that they are likely to be damaged in transit.
  9. Legacy Electronics’ warranties covers defects arising under normal use only and do not include malfunctions or failures resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, problems with electrical power, usage not in accordance with product instructions, acts of nature, or improper installation or repairs.
  10. Modification to or tampering with any Legacy product shall immediately void the applicable warranty.
  11. For any claim made under warranty, Buyer’s exclusive remedy shall be limited, at the Seller’s election, to repair or replacement of the defective Products, or refund of the purchase price thereof, or crediting of the same against future purchases by Buyer at the original purchase price or fair market value, whichever is lower. In addition, for any claim made under the Limited Lifetime Warranty, any credit shall be prorated over the expected life of the product in question at Seller’s sole discretion.
  12. Within 5 working days of receipt, Legacy we will confirm the RMA. This confirmation will include information regarding quantity and acceptance of the RMA. Rejected RMAs shall be returned at Buyer’s expense.
  13. If at all possible, Modules returned under Legacy’s Warranties will be repaired and returned to you. If a repair is not possible, we will send out a new or a functionality compatible module (or a better module if an equivalent module is not available) or issue a credit at Legacy’s sole discretion.
  14. If a Module is outside of warranty, Legacy may offer to repair the Module at an hourly rate plus component cost determined by Legacy on a case by case basis at Legacy’s sole discretion. Legacy shall have no obligation to repair any Module which is outside of its warranty period.
  15. Credit memos issued will expire 365 days from the issued date.
