New 1-GB, 133-MHz DIMM Option Now Available For Limited-Space Memory Applications In PCs and Electronic Devices

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — November 30, 2000 — A new CMTL-certified*, 1-GB PC133 Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM) for local-area and wide-area network server applications is now available from Legacy Electronics, Inc. In addition to LAN and WAN server applications, the 1.6 DIMM meets other space-limited design applications, including those requiring a 1U chassis fit.

The LE1G472R133 DIMM is certified by Computer Memory Test Labs*, which means that the unit itself has passed an exhausting battery of tests and meets stringent standards for reliability as tested on the Intel/STL2 (Tupelo) motherboard. Certification also means that Legacy Electronics has maintained the highest manufacturing procedures in regards to this DIMM.

The LE1G472R133 DIMM is also compatible with motherboards based on ServerWorks Corporation's ServerSet™ chipsets. ServerWorks Corporation of Santa Clara, California, is an independent supplier of high-performance core logic for Intel-based servers. Both Intel and Tyan Computer use the popular ServerSet™ chipsets, which allow the use of 4 gigabytes of ECC registered memory.

Canopy® Technology

The Legacy Electronics LE1G472R133 DIMM incorporates the company's recently introduced, patent-pending Canopy® technology, a 3-dimensional PCB subassembly and process technology which increases memory capacity without stacking, reducing memory module manufacturing cost and reliability issues, including thermal failures.

Availability

The LE1G472R133 DIMM is available with a 1-2 week lead time, with price discounts for volume quantities. For more information on this new product or on Canopy® Technology, please visit www.legacyelectronics.com.
