SAN CLEMENTE, CA — June 19, 2001 — Legacy Electronics announces the availability of their new 1-GB, 1.2 height SDRAM Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM). The 1-GB, ECC-Registered SDRAM DIMM for 1U chassis at PC 100 and PC 133 applications incorporates Legacy's new Canopy® 3-D subassembly technology, which facilitates heat dissipation and impedance control unlike traditional stacking solutions.

In addition to 1U chassis applications, the 1.2 SDRAM DIMM meets other space-limited designs, including LAN and WAN environments and other server markets.

Canopy® Technology

The Legacy Electronics 1-GB, 1.2 SDRAM DIMM incorporates the company's recently introduced, patent-pending Canopy® technology, a 3-dimensional printed circuit board subassembly, and a patent-pending process technology using a single-sided reflow, which increases on-board memory capacity without pre-stacking components. Considered an alternative to traditional stacking technologies, Canopy® reduces memory module manufacturing cost while reducing time to market and reliability issues, including thermal failures.
