SAN CLEMENTE, CA - - Design engineers and system integrators working with telecommunications, blade servers, routers, switches and embedded computing applications, may now benefit from Legacy Electronics’ new DDR Mini-DIMM.  

DDR SODIMMs currently used in small form factor networking applications will soon be replaced by smaller form-factor Mini-DIMMs.  However, the next generation of JEDEC-standard DDR2 SODIMMs does not support Error Correction Code (ECC) functionality.  With the release of the DDR Mini-DIMM Legacy now offers a solution supporting ECC. 

Kelvin Marino, Legacy’s CTO, advised, “Both the 512MB and 1GB versions of the DDR Mini-DIMM are available now.  Legacy Electronics is happy to add these new products to our product line to address the full spectrum of customer module applications, and to be able to offer multi-configurations on one printed circuit board.”

            Legacy Electronics’ CEO, Jason Engle, added “The DDR Mini-DIMM helps pave the way for migration to the DDR2 Mini-DIMM, ECC-registered modules we expect to release as engineering samples later this year.   The DDR2 Mini-DIMM will incorporate Legacy’s patented Canopy technology, an alternative to chip stacking.”
